Do you enjoy those occasions when the church is full, the singing powerful and the worship uplifting? Or are you the type who loves the regular routine of Sunday worship? Perhaps you prefer the more intimate group of half a dozen or so, or even prefer being on your own!
Most Christians need to tap into all four styles if they are to grow and mature spiritually. Fellowship groups at All Saints try to provide the small, friendly group where questions can be asked and mutual support given. They provide the local, personal care that is impossible to give in a large church via the regular Sunday services.
Fellowship groups at All Saints aim to provide a small, friendly group, where questions can be asked and mutual support given. They provide the local, pastoral care that is impossible to give in a large church via the regular Sunday services. There is a wide variety of evening and daytime groups which endeavour to cater to different people’s needs. Among others there is a group for new Christians, a twenties and thirties group, a group which meets in Burley-in-Wharfedale and another one in Addingham for people who live in those villages.
We also have an active branch of the Mothers’ Union, with 45 members. The branch meets monthly and has recently celebrated its centenary. In the past we have run Alpha courses, and after a gap of a few years, a new course commenced in January.
We value fellowship at All Saints, and to promote this we share refreshments before or after a number of services (especially the two main Sunday morning services). Once a month there is a “Bring and Share” lunch after the 10.45 service. There are other opportunities to spend time with each other; there are social and fundraising events such as our Summer and Christmas Fayres, and the Harvest Supper. More informally, several groups from our congregation have attended events such as New Wine, Greenbelt and Spring Harvest.
If you have never joined because you can’t get out in the evening/daytime, or because everyone seems so different to you or because…. then look again at the wide variety of groups running at All Saints.
The list of current groups is being amended. Please contact the office for further details of current groups.
